Congrats to the ever so wonderful 2B 

PreK in the Art Room

Students worked to improve their fine motor skills and the art of tearing! Below are examples of the proud pre k artists with their sunflowers! 

Project #1's wrapping up!

First projects are wrapping up!

First up, some speedy 3rd graders! We reviewed color families (warm and cool) and students created these very vibrant fun low relief (bas relief) students then explored types of line to add an extra design element!

Kindergarten Sunflowers!

Adorable brand new kindergarteners were welcomed to the art room learning about the fine motor skill of tearing (not to be confused with the act of ripping) we viewed real sunflowers and students created their very own !!

Golden Crayon Winner: 1A

Silent feet + quiet mouths + excellent participation and clean up=  1A being the first official winner of the golden crayon in the 2013-2014 school year!!!

International Dot Day!

And out came the paint!

Class #1: Reviewing the rules/procedure and getting back into our art room swing of things!

 Classes on Wednesday and Friday explored the book "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds. This is a great book to start of the year with a positive, "I can" attitude. 
This book is definitely one of my favorites due to the wonderful message!! Peter Reynolds has a few other art related books you should definitely check out!

As a school, we created a collaborative work of art. It is definitely very energetic and bright!

Welcome Back!!

Welcome back to a new and exciting year :) 

The art room received a face lift! Painted shelves, new tables, a lot of new decoration, the list goes on!!

 I am very excited for all the wonderful art that the students of Holy Cross are going to produce this year!!
